The Irish Times, Ireland’s quality ‘newspaper of record’, carried a full page interview and colour photograph of Joe Tiernan on Wednesday  16 July 2014. On publication, this was the most read of all stories on the Irish Times website, and because of that it became the lead story on the Irish Times ‘home page’ on the day of publication. Even on the following day, it was still the 3rd most read of all stories on the Irish Times website.
